STADION was born in 1990 from an idea of Furio Princivalli, an antique dealer from Trieste with a genetic passion for 19th and 20th century paintings, especially from the Central European area, and of Franco Deboni, architect and expert in Murano glass.
The meeting of these two personalities gives life to some memorable auctions, to which the press reserves a flattering prominence: Hitler's watercolors, Napoleon's letters, King Farouk's watches and the beautiful collections of Murano glass, presented at the Grand Hotel de Milan.
Deboni left the company in 1996 and in 1997 it was the turn of the Duino castle auction, which brought collectors from all over Europe and overseas to Trieste. A little later the furnishings of the beautiful neoclassical villa of the Bazzoni are dispersed.
In the following years it was the turn of the interiors of the beautiful Villa Deciani, nestled on the Friulian hills, and of the Casali and Cogolo properties. Stadion also signs the sale of the furnishings of Tripcovich, a historic Trieste shipping company.
In 2008 the STADION moved to the new headquarters on riva Tommaso Gulli 10, where a showroom with direct sales can be visited always open. The auctions are beaten by his daughter Giulia from the school of Stephen Cristea, former director of Sotheby's in Monte Carlo. In 2015 his son Nicola joined the staff
In recent years, among the most significant auctions, certainly that of December 2015, entirely dedicated to the most authoritative Slovenian painters. An event that attracted the attention of an important Slovenian television station which broadcast part of the auction live.
In 2016, the collection of the entire atelier of the painter-sculptor Bruno Chersicla, an artist famous for having painted the entire flooring of Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste before the restyling, went to auction.
In 2018 the furnishings of Villa Hermione owned by Cividin on sale and in 2019 those of Palazzo Bergamo-Pari in Portogruaro, formerly the seat of the Visdomino della Serenissima.
