Shiko Munakata ( 1903 - 1975 ) was a Japanese Sōsaku-hanga, Mingei (Folk Art) woodblock printmaker, known for his expressive black and white woodblock prints on Buddhist themes. Shiko Munakata s works have been put up for auction numerous times, with realized prices greatly surpassing estimated prices, varying from 375 USD for Poplar Tree I. in 2004 to a remarkable record 31070 USD for Portrait
